Welcome to Sing-A-Lingo

Exciting and innovative foreign language classes, incorporating music, drama and storytelling for babies and young children.

What Happens In A Sing-A-Lingo Class?

Bilingual Singing

image98

Exposing little ones to music and songs at a young age plays a crucial role in 'wiring' their brain for learning. Singing songs teaches children about how language is formed, allowing them to 'soak up' vocabulary, aiding memory acquisition, which is perfect for language learning!

Dancing

image99

Babies and little ones love to dance and move around. Whether it be running underneath our GIANT parachute, jumping or wriggling, clapping their hands or even busting their own moves to one of our catchy songs, your little one will have plenty of opportunity to move around!

Interactive Games

We don’t rote learn with flashcards at Sing-A-Lingo, instead we try to encourage natural use of the language through interactive games. Children are encouraged and prompted to use Spanish whilst counting, spotting colours, naming animals and giving instructions etc, meaning they speak Spanish as much as they hear it.

Sensory Play

image101

There are so many benefits to sensory play, including language development, cognitive growth, refining motor skills and problem solving skills, developing and enhancing memory function and many more. Sensory play is also great for calming an anxious or frustrated child and we use a variety of props and tools to stimulate a range of senses within each lesson.

Storytelling

image102

Make-believe and storytelling is an essential part of a child’s linguistic and cognitive development. At the end of each Sing-A-Lingo session the children begin their ‘cool down’ by sitting with a snack and taking part in the telling of an interactive story, told in English and Spanish. We've had stories about naughty sheep, hungry dinosaurs and lonely leopards, as well as familiar fairytales!

Special 'Themed' Classes

image103

Once or twice a term we offer special ‘themed’ weeks, giving the little ones a chance to dress up and have their photo taken. At the end of a term, you get a copy of their photo as a keepsake! So far we’ve had fun in the jungle and fought crime as superheroes!

Parents/Carers are more than welcome to dress up too!

If they love it, they learn it, simple!

Recent Testimonials For Sing-A-Lingo

"My 3 year old daughter loves Sing-a-Lingo, and often sings the songs she has learnt at home. In one term alone she has learnt her numbers 1-10 in Spanish, as well as greetings and colours. We will most definitely be continuing, and recommend this group to anyone with little ones. Fun and educational for us both!"

About Us

image142

Our Ethos

Here at Sing-A-Lingo we believe that every child should learn a foreign language in a way that is engaging and which enthuses them to continue learning.

We want language learning to be something children get excited about from a young age and into adulthood because they’ve found a way to learn that is engaging and effective, not something they grow out of because its ‘too hard’ or ‘irrelevant’. We want to offer a different, refreshing approach to language learning.

Our Classes

We provide educational pre-school classes in and around Teesside. Our language classes are taught using music, singing, story-telling, dancing and active games. After all, children learn best when they're enjoying the content!

We currently run Baby and Pre-school Spanish classes to the public and we can also deliver sessions in Nurseries/EYFS settings and can offer MFL PPA Cover in Primary Schools too. Our Early Years course content is directly linked with the EYFS framework; meaning we are a fun, educational and affordable activity which is popular with parents, external providers and, most importantly, the children!

Frequently Asked Questions

image146

Got a question but can't find the answer here? Then contact us below and we'll be happy to help.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept cash and /or you can pay safely and securely with any major Debit/Credit card via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account please contact us below.

Q: Do I have to pay termly, or can I pay each week?

A: 'On the door' payments of £3 is absolutely fine. However this is subject to available space on the day so arrive early!

Q: I want to join half way through the year/term, will my child be able to join in or will they have missed things?

Every week there will be a new language element that we cover in class, however we will always revisit the basics in the form of a story, game or song so new students can drop into a session and start where they pick up from. We operate a spiral curriculum, which means that we never teach new content and simply move on, we always revisit and recap. This helps children to create the essential pathways they need to recall the new language they are learning and to contextualise their learning also.

Q: Can I bring more than one child?

A: Yes of course! Siblings are charged at £1.50.

Q: I'm a childminder, do you offer a discount?

Yes we do, please contact us using the form below for more information.
